Saturday races features a $1,500-to-win Super Pro (Box) and Pro (Footbrake) combo race. The runner-up receives $500 as the Super Pro runs separate until the final.
Sunday is highlighted by the $2,000-to-win Super Pro Showdown sponsored by JR Turnbow. The runner-up has a $750 guarantee. The Pro (Footbrake) is competing for another $1,500 winner’s purse with $500 for the runner-up. The Street and Junior Dragster classes are also in action with the Ironman trophies handed out the end of the day.
Gates open at 9 a.m. both days with time trials at 10 a.m. and eliminations to follow. There are two time trials on Saturday and one for Sunday.
The IHRA Ironman Classic program is offered to all member tracks. Prior to this program, a sportsman racer could only win an Ironman if they traveled to a divisional or IHRA national event. This program gives local tracks a chance to create extra excitement in their bracket program and offer competitors a chance to win the prestigious Ironman trophy.
You are not required to have an IHRA license to run this event, but you must have one to win an Ironman trophy. Sunday’s races will count towards IHRA Summit SuperSeries and track points. You also must be an IHRA member to win the IHRA Summit SuperSeries track title and automatically qualify for the IHRA World Finals in October.
