IHRA Junior Dragster Profile: Mia Sanders

Thursday, 21 March 2024

HOUSE SPRINGS, MO — The International Hot Rod Association is proud to highlight the future of our sport, the great Junior Dragster racers at IHRA-member tracks across North America.

Mia Sanders, an eight-year-old from Granger, IN, is the newest racer to be spotlighted. She competes in a 2003 Halfscale car and has been racing two years.

Her racing heroes are her dad, Rob Sanders, and six-time NHRA Pro Stock World Champion Erica Enders. Her dad and her mom, Kara, serves as her team, although Mia is much more than a driver. She refuels the car every round and changes oil at the end of each race day.

Racing at IHRA-member track Bunker Hill Dragstrip and US131 Motorsports Park, she has gained sponsorship from Women and Wheels, Bellman Oil and Trick Tuning & Performance.

As a student, she enjoys math and reading. At the track, the best parts are going fast, having fun and racing with her friends. After she finishes in Junior Dragsters, Mia plans to get in a big dragster like her father.
