The 2013 IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL travels to Bradenton Motorsports Park for a Division 2 Heat Wave double-header and Nitro Jam April 19-21 at one of the most anticipated IHRA events of the year. This huge weekend will feature two full days of racing plus a special edition Nitro Jam Ironman for sportsman winners Saturday night and the opportunity to race in front of thousands of screaming fans. The 1/8 mile sportsman showdown will feature a test and tune and one round of qualifying for sportsman on Friday, qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday and qualifying and Race 2 on Sunday.

WHAT TO EXPECT: The second of four Division 2 Heat Wave double events will be held at Bradenton Motorsports Park April 19-21. Friday gates will be open from 9 a.m.-11 p.m. for parking and tech will open at noon. There will be a test and tune from 1-4:15 p.m. for those interested in participating followed by one time trial/qualifying session for all participants at 5 p.m. Day 1 of Nitro Jam will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by the remainder of sportsman qualifying immediately following.
On Saturday gates will open at 7 a.m. and tech will open at 8 a.m. and close following the time trial/qualifying session. Eliminations will follow ending with Day 2 of Nitro Jam beginning at 7:30 p.m. and the remainder of Pro-Am eliminations immediately following. On Sunday gates will open at 8 a.m. with God Speed church service at 8:15 a.m. and one time trial beginning at 9 a.m. (time and weather permitting) followed by eliminations.
BONUS RACING
Friday Qualifying – Sportsman racers will be given one round of qualifying Friday evening in front of the Nitro Jam audience.
Saturday Nitro Jam – Sportsman winners during Saturday’s Nitro Jam/Pro-Am doubleheader will receive a special edition Nitro Jam Ironman plus an opportunity to compete in front of an anticipated capacity crowd.
ET Bracket Race – In addition to the Summit Pro-Am competition, the track will host a bracket race for Top and Mod classes with $80 entry and $1,500 to the winner in Top and $70 entry and $1,200 to the winner in Mod.
NITRO JAM: The 2013 Bradenton Nitro Jam presented by CarSafe, Metro PCS and Southern Ford Dealers will feature Top Fuel Dragster, AMSOIL Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car, Fuel Altered, Nitro Harley, the Super Shockwave Jet Truck, Grave Digger, Wheelstanders, Pyrotechnics and more!

FAST FACTS: The 2013 event will mark the first IHRA Nitro Jam professional event to be run at Bradenton since holding two national events at the track in 1998 and 1999…IHRA’s Summit Pro-Am Tour made its return to the track last year as part of the Division 2 Heat Wave schedule…In last year’s return to Bradenton five different drivers doubled up at the event including Mark Nowicki in Super Stock, Steve Muller in Quick Rod, Mike Ruff in Super Rod, Nicholas Ferrara in Junior Advanced and Cody Krohn in Junior Beginner, Dennis Wallace almost doubled up in Top Sportsman with a win and a runner-up…Bradenton proved a pivotal race in the chase for the D2 title for Steve Muller and B.J. Bianchi who used the win to propel them into the hunt for the championship…Expect big things from Claude DeBonis who won at Bradenton last year and has already started 2013 with a win at Immokalee…Current points leaders entering this race include Mike Thompson (TS), DeBonis (TD), Tony Cafaro (SS), Jeff Lewis (ST), Otis Henry (QR), Joseph Deluco (SR) and James McPherson (HR).
ROAD TO THE TOC: In 2013 the Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL is now the only road to the year-end Summit Racing Tournament of Champions showdown in Memphis. Only the top three in each class within each division on the Summit Pro-Am Tour will advance to the championship tournament in October to runoff for the 2013 Summit World Championships and $10,000!
