The prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies and big checks will be awarded to winners of the Top ET, Modified, Footbrake, Sportsman and Junior Dragster classes. There will be a special run-off at the end of all the class champions to crown King of the Bluegrass. Young racer Kayden Kratzer pulled off a major surprise in 2022 by winning the King of the Bluegrass honor.
Saturday’s action is highlighted by a $10,000-to-win Top ET (Box) race with 100 or more entries. At a minimum, there will be a $5,000-to-win guaranteed purse with $700 for the runner-up. It’s a $125 single entry or $200 for either a double entry or Top and Mod combo entry.
The Mod class pays $4,000 to the winner if there are 50 or more entries and $2,000 guaranteed otherwise with $100 for single entry and $175 for double entry.
Footbrake is a new class to run on the 1/8-mile and Sportsman cars will run on the full 1/4-mile. Each of these, along with the Junior Dragsters, feature $1,000-to-win with 30 or more entries. There is also a race for Daily Drivers.
Sunoco Race Fuels are available on site. Gates open at 11 a.m. with time runs at 2 p.m. and eliminations to follow. Crew and spectator entries are $15 for Friday and $20 for Saturday. Kids ages 7-12 are half off with those 6-under admitted free.
