Event Preview: 2014 Summit Pro-Am Tour season kicks off this weekend at Immokalee Regional Raceway

The 2014 IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL Division 2 season gets underway January 31-February 2 at Immokalee Regional Raceway in Florida for the first of four events in the division. This race will double as a Summit Pro-Am Tour Wild Card meaning racers of all divisions can count it as an in-division claim. Racing action will get underway on Friday with a test and tune followed by two separate races Saturday and Sunday at Ralph Hester’s racer-favorite facility.

WHAT TO EXPECT: The first stop on the 2014 Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour season will be at Ralph Hester’s popular Immokalee Regional Raceway in southern Florida. This event presents racers an early season opportunity to escape the cold and enjoy a warm-weather weekend at a race known for attracting great racers from across the country.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 31: Gates will open at 10 a.m. and will remain open for late arriving participants. Tech will be open on Friday from 2-9 p.m. with a test and tune scheduled for 5-10 p.m.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1: Gates and tech will open at 8 a.m. There will be two time trial/qualifying sessions beginning at 9 a.m. followed immediately by Pro-Am eliminations. There will be a track-hosted racer part Saturday night immediately following the completion of the race with great food and fellowship.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 2: Gates will open at 8 a.m. and God Speed Ministries will host a church service beginning at 8:15 a.m. Racing will get underway at 9 a.m. with one time trial/qualifying session followed immediately by Day 2 eliminations.

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING: “We are all ready for this great event. We are getting the big tent up now and we welcome racers with open arms for a great weekend capped off with a huge party Saturday night,” said Ralph Hester, Track Operator at Immokalee Regional Raceway. “We are looking forward to seeing all of our good friends and having another great race. We had a good crowd last year and we can’t wait to see everyone out again this year.”

ROAD TO THE TOC: In 2014 the Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL is the only road to the year-end Summit Racing Tournament of Champions showdown in Memphis. Only the top three finishers in each class within each division on the Summit Pro-Am Tour will advance to the championship tournament in October to runoff for the 2014 Summit World Championships and $10,000!
