“We welcome this unique facility to the IHRA family,” said IHRA President Scott Gardner. “Mech-Tech is a drag strip and also part of the training facility.”
“We have been competing in Pro Mod competition with Isaias Rojas in IHRA competition. It is a very clear understanding that the team of Mech-Tech decided to go IHRA racing,” said school and track owner Edwin Colon. “It (IHRA) is more realistic for the needs of the racers of today.
“Mech-Tech is a school, licensed and recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Mech-Tech has seven locations in Puerto Rico and one in Orlando, Florida. We are the biggest, and only Spanish-speaking training center in the world for Snap-On Tools. We are one of the top two schools in the nation on certification for the National Collision Certification Center.”
“It will be good to have this track back in the IHRA family,” said IHRA Special Projects Director Phil Gingerich. “It serves the southern and middle parts of the island.”
