For racers, Spokane County Raceway will continue to accept NHRA memberships, licenses and chassis certifications from previous years until they expire. Once the old memberships, licenses and certifications expire, SCR will assist the racers in obtaining new IHRA documents.
The registration process for joining the IHRA is easy. Racers can contact Donna Harper directly at the IHRA headquarters in Norwalk, Ohio at (419) 660-4219 or email her at dharper@ihra.com and get the process started. Racers will be able to register their existing number in Division 6 as long as that number is not already registered. Racers can also visit the IHRA website at www.ihra.com and click on Membership Center for more details.
By joining the IHRA, racers can take part in a number of exciting racing programs including the popular Summit Racing Equipment SuperSeries presented by AMSOIL. This program allows competitors at the track to compete nationally with other racers across the United States and Canada without leaving their home track. Racers will also have an opportunity to take part in the Summit Team Finals held at the conclusion of the racing season.
IHRA has also announced that it will be bringing its Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series to Spokane County Raceway in 2015 as the best racers in Nitro Funny Car, Nitro Harley, Pro Stock and more compete for national points in the first-ever IHRA national event held on the West Coast. The event will feature national television coverage and an opportunity for Spokane’s ET racers to compete on the big stage as IHRA’s Nitro Jam program encourages participation in all classes at the national event level.
Additionally, IHRA has announced that Spokane County Raceway will alternate as host of the Summit Racing Equipment Team Finals competition in Division 6 with Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, drawing racers from all across the western United States and Canada to SCR.
“I really feel this is a step in the right direction for all of the racers by bringing a new opportunity and excitement back to Spokane County Raceway,” said Craig Smith, General Manager at Spokane County Raceway.
