Now the racers in Ohio and neighboring states, get to join in on fun and compete for big checks, big money, prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies and new in 2023, a chance to qualify for the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals.
It’s not too late to become an IHRA member and try to earn entry to the 2023 World Finals. It was announced Monday that the membership date requirement has been extended from its original date of May 1 to July 1. Adding to the excitement, the overall World Finals prize package is now worth more than $275,000.
There are great purses offered at the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular at Dragway 42 as well. With a 100-car minimum, the Top (Box) winner will receive a $5,000 check and the runner-up gets $1,000 thanks to sponsorship from Mickey Thompson Tires.
The Mod (No Box) winner’s purse is $2,000 thanks to the support of 501 Performance Torque Converters and Powertrain. It will be $1,500 if there are less than 80 cars in the first round. The Sportsman winner is scheduled to take home $400 based on 20 cars in the first round with Trick-Flow Specialties serving as the sponsor.
For the Motorcycle event winner, it’s a $375 purse thanks to Ligouri Drag Racing. If 18 or more bikes are entered, another $125 is added to the win. There are three classes of Junior Dragsters (7.90, 8.90 an 11.90) with a run-off between the winners to determine a World Finals qualifier.
Gates open at 7:30 a.m. with time trials at 9 a.m. and eliminations to follow. There’s a $20 entry for spectators and crew, and $5 for kids 6-12.
Here are important facts regarding the event:
• Event winners, who are IHRA members, now earn entry into the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals in conjunction with entering at least two other IHRA races (IHRA-member track Summit SuperSeries team race or other IHRA Sportsman Spectacular races). Current IHRA membership is required.

• Event entry will take place at the track
• IHRA license renewal / chassis certification will be available on site
• IHRA IronMan trophies awarded to the winners of Saturday’s events
