PARKER, SD — Thunder Valley Dragways is set to host the 2024 International Hot Rod Association Division 6 (Midwest) Summit Team Finals this week, August 22-24.

The South Dakota track which opened in 1967 features a 1/4-mile asphalt track, a 300-feet concrete launching pad and 1,430 feet of elevation. There are over 100 camping spaces with electric hook-ups, an unlimited amount of non-electric spaces and full restrooms with showers.

HOLLY SPRINGS, MS — The IHRA Division 2 (Heat Wave) Summit Team Finals will once again be held at Holly Springs Motorsports on September 12-14, 2024.

Competition will take place in five classes — Top ET (Box), Mod (No Box), Sportsman, Motorcycles and Junior Dragsters — at the Division 2 Summit Team Finals. 

ALBANY, IN — Rain has forced IHRA Ironman Classic at Muncie Dragway to be rescheduled for Saturday, August 31. 

It is the second time that inclement weather has forced the postponement of the race which was originally slated for July. In addition to the IHRA Ironman Classic, it will also serve as an IHRA Summit SuperSeries points race. 

DYERSBURG, TN — The IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering has its final race of the season Saturday, August 24 at River Road Raceway, LLC.

It’s the perfect venue for the season finale. The West Tennessee track near the Missouri, Arkansas and Kentucky borders features an all-concrete surface, all-new concrete walls and an all-asphalt pit area. 

The International Hot Rod Association is saddened with the news of the death of another great racing legend, Richard “Dick” Fox, on Tuesday in Michigan. He was 77.

Fox was a multiple-time winner in Quick Rod competition and the runner-up in the 1987 national championship. He won such events as the Summer Nationals at US41 Dragway, the Motorcraft World Nationals at Norwalk Raceway Park and the Motorcraft Northern Nationals at Milan Dragway.

UNION GROVE, WI — Are you ready for the Big Race? It’s time for the IHRA Ironman Classic at Great Lakes Dragaway on Sunday, August 25.

The prestigious IHRA Ironman trophy will be awarded to the following classes: Top (Box), Mod (No Box), Sportsman, Bike/Sled and Junior Dragster.

The International Hot Rod Association remembers Scotty Richardson, considered among the very best bracket racers of all-time. Richardson died Tuesday at age 53.

Richardson, who began his racing career in 1983, was the 2008 IHRA Top Dragster World Champion and a five-time NHRA World Champion. Incredibly consistent at the tree and down the track, he won numerous big races from Florida to California in multiple classes. He won races in different vehicles from dragsters to door cars over a celebrated four-decade career.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Five racers went home as winners from the IHRA Ironman Classic held Saturday at Albuquerque Dragway.

Robert Howard (Super Pro), Mike Stewart (Pro), Harley Bull (Sportsman), Mike Corn (Motorcycle) and Maddox Tafoya (Junior Dragster) captured the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies. The races also counted towards the track’s IHRA Summit SuperSeries points program.

MUNCIE, IN — Muncie Dragway brings the excitement of the IHRA Ironman Classic to the historic Indiana track this Saturday, August 17. 

The race, which was rescheduled from its original July date after extreme amount of rain, will also serve as an IHRA Summit SuperSeries points race. 

ETHRIDGE, TN — Five racers including a pair named Green and Greene were amongst the winners in Saturday’s completion of the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering at Ethridge Motorsports Park.

Kyle Green in Pro (Box), Jock Greene in No Box, Kendall Gillespie in Sportsman, Baley Miles in Motorcycle and Leah Smith in Junior Dragster won the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies, commemorate medals and big checks. Racers that were current IHRA members qualified for the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals.
