Bernshausen and Shofner won $2,000 winner’s purses for their respective classes, while they and others took home IHRA Ironman trophies and the IHRA-member winners earned entry into the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals.
Bernshausen, a former IHRA Ironman winner back in 2015, raced down the drag strip to capture the $2,000-to-win victory in the Top class. Brian Lauterbach was the runner-up finisher in the event, which was also the Rick and Darlene Hammond Memorial Race.
Shofner, the 2015 IHRA Division 5 Summit Team Finals champion, was able to take home the victory over 2021 IHRA Summit World Finals runner-up Jimmy Barrett in a star-studded Mod final.
The Sportsman final saw Jason Grafelman power to the victory over his final-round opponent Dalton Carr.
Exciting two-wheel action also took place with Troy Fore the Motorcycle class winner and Mike Murphy taking runner-up honors.
Avery Bolding, who won the Race of Champions at the 2022 IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals, was the Junior Dragster winner. Kylee Eads, frequently one of the top Jr. Dragster racers at Central Illinois, raced to the runner-up finish.
Finally, Chris Mullins rocketed his dragster down the track to the score the victory in a special Quick 16 race.
