HOUSE SPRINGS, MO — Here’s your chance to win a shiny new Ford truck and support your local race track at the same time.

Thanks to IHRA partners Morrow Brothers Ford of Greenfield, Illinois and Extreme Racing Oils, IHRA member tracks have tickets for a chance to win a new Ford F150 crew cab XLT Sport truck with 4-wheel drive estimated valued at $60,000. This one-of-a-kind contest is only held at IHRA-member tracks.

Everyone who participates is a winner as one hundred percent of the proceeds go to the tracks. The money can put into the racers’ points fund or a special event, or be used to help with maintenance, upgrades and other operating expenses. It’s up to the track to be used however is needed. It’s all about making things better for the tracks and racers.

The grand prize winner will take home an incredible new vehicle which features the XLT Sport Package, a 10-speed automatic transmission, a towing package and a lot of nice amenities. Winners will be announced at the 2024 IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals.

All entries must be turned in by October 1.

KAUKAUNA, WI — Bracket racers at Wisconsin International Raceway will have an extra treat on Saturday, August 3 as they get to compete for the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies.

Wisconsin International Raceway, which features both a 1/4-mile drag strip and a 1/2-mile stock car racing oval, hosts the IHRA Ironman Classic as an addition to the normal IHRA Summit SuperSeries points race.

The IHRA Ironman Classic program is offered to all IHRA member tracks. Prior to this program, a Sportsman racer could only win an Ironman if they traveled to an IHRA Summit Team Finals, Sportsman Spectacular or World Finals. This program gives local tracks a chance to create extra excitement in their bracket program and offer competitors a chance to win the prestigious Ironman.

It’s a busy few weeks at the facility with a major stock car race on the oval Thursday night and the drag strip set to host the Gertrude’s Ice Cream Summer Nationals on Saturday. The event features Jet Dragsters, 7-Second Door Slammers and Fireworks. Costs for the Summer Nationals are $20 with kids 12-under admitted free.

Major NASCAR stars including Ty Majeski, winner of the most recent Truck Series race at Indianapolis, are frequent visitors to the speedway. The drag strip has produced its own elite racers including A.J. Leung, who was the IHRA Summit SuperSeries Junior Dragster World Champion last season.

MOROCCO, IN — Matt O’Connell had the extra motivation to emerge the big winner at 41 Frenzy featuring the IHRA Ironman Classic at US41 Dragstrip.

O’Connell captured the No Box final over Steve Graham and then won a runoff against Box winner Nick Hooten for the $4,100 winner’s purse.

More than the money, O’Connell was happy to dedicate the win to his mom, Margaene, who died recently. Hooten was the Box winner over John Coyle in the final round. Chevy Wolfe defeated Dave McVicker in the Sportsman final.

Lexie Klinger rounded out the list of Saturday winners with the final-round victory over Cassidy Becker.

Saturday’s main event was preceded by a $1,500-to-win Gamblers race on Friday night. Ricky Pena won in the final round over Nichole Medeisis.

There was a full day of IHRA Summit SuperSeries points racing on Sunday. Zach Manaseri was the Box winner with Justin Ford his final-round opponent. Tim Flynn took the No Box victory with John Hixon runner-up. It set up another runoff where Manaseri was victorious against Flynn.

Paul O’Keefe reigned supreme in Sportsman with Stephen Mroz challenging him in the final. Cooper Hamelen took the Junior Dragster final against Ava Valencia to fill out the weekend winners.

DYERSBURG, TN — Drivers in Northwest Tennessee and neighboring states like Arkansas, Kentucky and Missouri will have the chance to race for the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies just days away.

River Road Raceway, which features an all-concrete surface, all-new concrete walls and an all-asphalt pit area, is hosting the IHRA Ironman Classic on Saturday, July 27.

The IHRA Ironman Classic program is offered to all IHRA member tracks. Prior to this program, a Sportsman racer could only win an Ironman if they traveled to an IHRA Summit Team Finals, Sportsman Spectacular or World Finals. This program gives local tracks a chance to create extra excitement in their bracket program and offer competitors a chance to win the prestigious Ironman.

The No Box class features a $2,000-to-win prize with a $50 entry fee. The Box class has a $1,500 winner’s purse and a $50 entry fee. The Street class is $750-to-win and $40 to enter. Motorcycles will have a $20 entry and 100 percent payback.

Gates open at 4 p.m. with time trials at 6 p.m. and first round of eliminations at 8 p.m. It’s $10 for all spectators and crew.

MOROCCO, IN — Exciting opportunities await racers in Indiana, Illinois and other Midwestern states with the 41 Frenzy at US41 Dragstrip on Saturday, July 20.

Drivers have the chance to compete for big money and the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies at the track which has gone significant upgrades in recent months. The entire 1/8-mile was milled, cleaned and reworked with the track surface now called one of the nicest in the country.

Action starts Friday, July 19 with a $1,500-to-win Gamblers race sponsored by State Farm agent John Yelkich. It’s a 32-car shootout with buybacks.

Saturday’s races include Box, No Box, Sportsman and Junior Dragster classes. Stevenson Auto Sales features a $4,100-to-win race for the Box and No Box classes. The winners of the Box and No Box classes will each receive an IHRA Ironman before a runoff for the money. It’s a $100 entry fee for the racers.

Team 269 Motorsports Performance Products is the sponsor of the Sportsman race which features a $500 winner’s purse and $50 entry fee. It’s the same payout and entry fee for the J&P Customs LLC Junior Dragster race.

Spectator costs are $10 Friday with $20 per day for Saturday’s race and Sunday’s IHRA Summit SuperSeries bracket race. Gates open at 4 p.m. Friday with time runs at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday has gates opening at 8 a.m. with the track hot at 10 a.m. Eliminations will follow time trials.

HILO, HI — The Hawaii Drag Racing League brought the IHRA Ironman Classic to Hilo Dragstrip as part of the ninth annual Uncle Gary Arita “Shakedown in H-Town” race.

Winners of different classes at the race took home the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies.

The IHRA Ironman Classic program is offered to all IHRA member tracks. Prior to this program, a Sportsman racer could only win an Ironman if they traveled to an IHRA Summit Team Finals, Sportsman Spectacular or World Finals. This program gives local tracks a chance to create extra excitement in their bracket program and offer competitors a chance to win the prestigious Ironman.

ROGERSVILLE, MO — Ozark Raceway Park had a great night of racing with a strong turnout for the IHRA Ironman Classic last Saturday night.

Five racers — Isaac Hill (Top), Shane Rees (Mod), Terry Phelps (Sportsman), Jeff Ridenour (Motorcycle) and Mason Acosta (Junior Dragster) went home with the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies.

Hill cruised to the Top (Box) victory when his final-round opponent Jason Cypret left the starting tree too early. Hill eased down the 1/8-mile in 7.508 seconds. Cypret had a run hard to beat if not for the foul. He posted a 5.749-second pass at 118.70 mph on a 5.74 dial-in.

Both drivers broke out in the Mod (No Box) final, but Rees had the better numbers with a 5.961-second run at 111.52 mph and a .057 reaction time. Bobby Wilbanks had a 7.479-second elapsed time at 91.17 mph and a .069 start.

Phelps won on a holeshot in the Sportsman final. He had a .027 to .096 advantage at the start and finished in 7.108 seconds at 91.84 mph against a 7.06 dial-in. Current track points leader Steve Carlock Jr. went down the drag strip in 7.161 seconds at 94.90 mph with a 7.15 dial-in time.

Ridenhour, nicknamed Sarge, showed the advanced training on his Motorcycle with a 5.687-second run at 125.56 mph against a 5.68 dial-in. John Jones, also the points leader in his class, finished in 5.897 seconds at 117.31 mph with a 5.84 dial-in. Ridenhour was a lot quicker .057 to .283 at the tree.

Acosta was on point in the Junior Dragster final with a 7.966-second run at 80.24 mph against a 7.96 dial-in. Runner-up Drayson Cline had an 8.369-second pass at 77.33 mph against an 8.37 dial-in. Acosta had the .018 reaction time to .062 for Cline.

WEST SALEM, OH — Cadence Soucek, Steven Collier and Nick Bowman took home big checks and the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies from the third annual CJW Solutions Hootenanny No Box Open at Dragway 42 over the weekend.

Soucek had the biggest check, in the form of $10,000, after winning Saturday’s main event sponsored by Battleaxe Vickers Performance Transmissions.

In an incredibly competitive Saturday final, Collier had the perfect .000 start, while Soucek was a solid .010 at the tree. But, Collier broke out with a 6.875-second run at 98.30 mph against a 6.88 dial-in. Soucek posted a 6.671-second elapsed time at 100.76 mph against a 6.66 dial in her Chevy Nova.

Phil Combs, also driving a Nova, won the 32-Car Shootout. His winning package included a 6.299-second pass at 103.62 mph against a 6.28 dial-in. Jason Profitt went down the track in 6.734 seconds at 99.82 mph against a 6.72 dial-in. Combs also had a .032 to .037 advantage at the start.

Ean Guenthardt won on a holeshot .037 to .114 over Alyssa Davis in Junior Dragsters. The great start was needed with Guenthardt’s 7.945-second elapsed time at 80.01 mph against a 7.92 dial-in. Davis was spot on her 8.07 dial-in with a 8.073-second pass at 81.60 mph.

BMD Custom Designs sponsored a pair of Friday night shootouts. Ron Boyce won the Low Roller Shootout, right on his 5.84 dial-in with a 5.844-second run at 117.83 mph. Gregory was runner-up again with a 6.008-second pass at 113.41 mph on a 5.99 dial-in. Gregory was a little better at the start with a .035 to .045 reaction time.

Andrew Innes was the winner of the High Roller Shootout with a great .005 reaction time, along with a 5.968-second run at 110.97 mph. Phil Combs was the runner-up with a .021 start, along with a 6.299-second pass at 104.70 mph.

Mike Dumont won the Wired Designs LLC Duck Race with a package of 5.969 seconds and 116.52 mph against a 5.93 dial-in and a .036 start. Zach Combs broke out with a 6.307-second pass at 105.07 mph against a 6.32 dial-in and a .039 reaction time.

HOUSE SPRINGS, MO — This is the last opportunity for the 2024 season, the final weekend to sign up for IHRA membership and compete for a spot in the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering.

The deadline is Monday, July 1 to sign up for IHRA membership and be a part of the IHRA Summit SuperSeries program, the most prestigious championship in all of bracket racing. 

IHRA-member racers can qualify for the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering in three ways. One way is to win the IHRA Summit SuperSeries championship at their home track. Another way is to win an individual title at one of the IHRA Summit Team Finals. 

Racers can still participate in the IHRA Summit Team Finals without being a member, but they won’t be eligible to qualify for the IHRA World Finals.

If you become a member after July 1, the third and only way to qualify for the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals is becoming a winner at an IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering and entering at least two other IHRA events.

IHRA World Champions will be crowned in five different classes — Top (Box), Mod (No Box), Sportsman, Motorcycle and Junior Dragster — at the 2024 IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals.
