The IHRA Ironman Classic program is offered to all IHRA member tracks. Prior to this program, a Sportsman racer could only win an Ironman if they traveled to an IHRA Summit Team Finals, Sportsman Spectacular or World Finals. This program gives local tracks a chance to create extra excitement in their bracket program and offer competitors a chance to win the prestigious Ironman.
Beacon Dragway hosted an IHRA Ironman Classic last April with Kyle Clapp (Super Pro), Dylan McClerren (No Box), William Joiner (Sportsman) and Grady Wiggins (Junior Dragster) winning the races.
Gates open at noon for the race with time trials at 2 p.m. followed by great racing action. There is a $75 entry fee for the Super Pro and No Box classes. The Sportsman and Junior Dragster classes are $50 to enter. Double entries are allowed for the Super Pro, No Box and Sportsman classes.
General admission tickets are $15 with kids 12-under admitted free.
