Passionate Racer Supplying Grand Prize Trailer for IHRA Sportsman World Champion

Friday, 12 May 2023

HOUSE SPRINGS, Missouri — Brian Lewis is all about giving back to the sport of drag racing as a competitor himself.

That’s a big reason the owner of B&C Trailer Services is pleased to be providing a 20-foot, wood-floor, car hauler to the Sportsman champion at the 2023 IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals.

It’s one of four grand prizes which have pushed the total value of the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Series purse and prize packages over $275,000. Other grand prizes include a custom-built Ezell Race Cars rolling chassis for the Top (Box) champion, a 28-foot, inTech enclosed trailer from Flying A Motorsports for the Mod (No Box) champion, and a Yamaha golf cart from Dart’s Carts for the Junior Dragster champion.

As a competitor himself and someone who grew up around the sport, he knows how exciting these additions are. He also fits in well with the IHRA’s new Motorcycle class as most of his racing career has been spent on fast bikes.

“This May marks 30 years that I’ve been racing,” Lewis said. “My father did the Sportsman racing and then raced Pro Mods back in the day. I started racing motorcycles in 1993 and worked my way up to Pro Mod motorcycles. Then, I went to Funny Bikes and raced those until 2017. I did 6.49 at 205 in the quarter-mile in my alcohol-engine, turbo Funny Bike.”

After rocketing down the track on two wheels, he switched to four wheels and joined the Pro Mod ranks in 2018. Since the start of the 2022 season, he’s campaigned a new ride.

“We built our first Pro Mod, a car that was owned by Randall Reid,” he said. “I raced it from 2018-21. Then, we built the new 1941 Willys with the Brad Anderson screw blower for the 2022 season.”

He liked it was different from the 1960s Camaro body styles that dominate the Pro Mod ranks. It’s the same with his business being a little different. B&C Trailer Services offers a wide variety of items for the race track and beyond.

There are trailers to haul everything from tractors to race cars, from livestock to landscape equipment. Hay trailers, dump trailers, car haulers, tow dollies and other farm equipment are in stock.
