Mississippi Racers Score Wins in IHRA Summit SuperSeries Doubleheader

GULFPORT, Miss. — There’s nothing like the thrill of victory and eight different drivers experienced that thrill during the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Summit SuperSeries doubleheader held at Gulfport Dragway over the weekend.

Brandon Fulger was the Footbrake winner in the first race of the weekend with Larry Sequin runner-up. Roger Marcomb advanced to the semifinal round.

It was a “Champagne celebration” in Electronics with Herb Champagne taking the victory. Showing his Box and No Box versatility, Sequin finished runner-up in this class as well. Glenn Elliser made it to the semifinals.

Carl Schaefer captured the Sportsman victory with Anthony Floyd his final-round opponent.

Rylee Wells won a competitive Junior Dragster race with Hayden Miller taking the runner-up honors. Luke Tabor and John Varner reached the semifinals.

Roger Marcomb made it to the championship round and captured the Footbrake victory in the second race. Thad Smith was runner-up with Matt Nowling in the semifinal round.

There was a different cast of characters leading the Electronics class. Jordan Eaker was the winner with AJ Ashe also in the final round. Thomas Holley was a semifinalist.

Curtis Allen ended the winner in the Sportsman class. Anthony Floyd posted his second runner-up finish of the weekend.

Grace Varner led the Junior Dragster contingent with a final-round win over Luke Tabor. Chase Green reached the semifinal round.
