Fast Start Propels Lobner to Top Victory at IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Hagerty and Moser Engineering

ASBURY, Missouri — JR Lobner got off to a blistering fast start with a .002 reaction time and raced to the Super Pro (Box) win at Saturday’s IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Hagerty and Moser Engineering at Mo-Kan Dragway.

It allowed the Gardner, Kansas racer to win on a holeshot as he paired it with a 4.809-second run at 139.62 mph against a 4.79 dial-in. He bested Missouri racer Andrew Goss, who was closer to his 4.94 dial-in with a 4.942 run at 134.77 mph, but came up short with a .042 reaction time.Unknown

Another Kansas racer, Larry Ziebler, also took advantage of a quick start to win the No Box final. He got off the line in .045 seconds to .079 for runner-up Adam Curl. Ziebler finished his run in 6.637 seconds at 92.92 mph against a 6.58 dial-in. Curl powered down the track in 6.449 seconds at 101.03 mph on a 6.41 dial-in.

Larry George received the big check for the Sportsman ranks after a foul at the start denied Goss. Facing a 7.68 dial-in, Kansas driver George went down the drag strip in 7.691 seconds at 88.58 mph. Goss, who made his second final-round appearance of the day, was -.008 to fast at the tree. He went on to post a 6.967-second run at 96.36 mph.

The Junior Dragster final came down to a pair of cousins. Kholey Peak from Carthage, Missouri, won on a holeshot .054 to .099 against Cade Peak. Kholey then produced a 7.968-second pass at 80.52 mph against a 7.94 dial-in. Cade Peak from across the state line in Mulberry, Kansas ended in 8.954 seconds at 72.21 mph against an 8.90 dial-in.
