Event Preview: Eagle Motorplex hosts Division 6 opener June 21-23

The 2013 IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL season kicks off for the Division 6 Border Bandits June 21-23 at the NL ‘Akapxm Eagle Motorplex in Ashcroft, British Columbia for a Border Bandits doubleheader. This track will host two 1/4 mile races with a test and tune on Friday and qualifying and racing on Saturday and Sunday.

Pro-Am

WHAT TO EXPECT: The first stop for the Division 6 Border Bandits 2013 Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL will be at the NL ‘Akapxm Eagle Motorplex in Ashcroft, British Columbia. Division 6 is one of the more challenging divisions in the IHRA family given the tremendous number of miles that are required to travel between tracks within the immense area of the division. It is here you will find some of the most dedicated racers in North America.

Gates will open on Thursday, June 20 for parking at noon and run throughout the day. Gates and tech will open on Friday, June 21 at 8 a.m. and will be followed by a test and tune from Noon-5 p.m. Racing action heats up on Saturday, June 22 with tech opening at 8 a.m. followed by time trials (two rounds) beginning at 9 a.m. and eliminations immediately following. On Sunday, June 23 tech will open at 8 a.m. followed by God Speed Church service at 8:15 a.m. and time trials beginning at 9 a.m. followed immediately by eliminations.

Top, Mod and Street Eliminator will be running an Ironman Classic throughout the event and the High School Class will be running a Provincial Championship race on Saturday.

BONUS RACING
Ironman Classic – Eagle Motorplex will host its Ironman Classic for racers in Top, Mod and Street Eliminator throughout the weekend.

Provincial High School Championship – Eagle Motorplex will be hosting a special high school shootout on Saturday. Additional information for this race is available on the track website.

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING: “We are very excited about hosting our third Pro-Am event. The series is continuing to grow and so is the enthusiasm within the division,” said Joe Sye, Track Manager and Operator at Eagle Motorplex. “The crew here at the ‘Plex have been working very hard the past couple of months with several changes in preparation for the event. We are looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend.”

ROAD TO THE TOC: In 2013 the Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL is now the only road to the year-end Summit Racing Tournament of Champions showdown in Memphis. Only the top three in each class within each division on the Summit Pro-Am Tour will advance to the championship tournament in October to runoff for the 2013 Summit World Championships and $10,000!
