Thunder Valley Dragways Suffers Major Damage Due to Flooding
MARION, SD — The International Hot Rod Association passes on our thoughts and prayers to all the staff and racers at Thunder Valley Dragways due to significant flooding at the race track. There was an official total of 16.6 inches of rain at 11 p.m. Friday night and the river isn’t expected to crest until Tuesday.
Damage suffered includes the track’s rollback truck and other structures, while many racers and track staff have experienced flooding at their homes as well. Obviously, the races originally scheduled this weekend, including the IHRA Ironman Classic, have been postponed to a later date to be determined.
