Albuquerque Dragway to host its first IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering in Two Weeks

ALBQUERQUE, NM — The Land of Enchantment will be the land of top-notch bracket racing Saturday, June 22 when Albuquerque Dragway hosts the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering.

Racers in Super Pro (Box), No Box, Sportsman, Motorcycle and Junior Dragster classes will compete for prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies and the very popular oversized championship checks. IHRA members will also be in the running for limited-edition Sportsman Spectacular commemorative medals.

There are exciting opportunities for racers who can gain entry to the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering by winning the main event in the Box, No Box, Sportsman, Motorcycle and Junior Dragster classes in conjunction with entering at least two other IHRA races (an IHRA-member track Summit SuperSeries team race or Sportsman Spectacular) before the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals. Current IHRA membership is required.

Each event is tailored to the host track’s racing programs with a $2,500-to-win top prize and $125 entry fee in the Super Pro (Box) class. The Pro (No Box) class features $2,500 to the winner and a $100 entry. It’s $1,000 for the Sportsman winner with a $50 entry fee. Motorcycle pays $500 to the winner and $65 to enter. The Junior Dragster winner will get $500 with a $50 entry fee.

Gates open at 2 p.m. with time trials to start at 4 p.m. Spectator tickets are $20 each with kids 10-under admitted free. Friday night features a High Roller Gambler with a $500 entry and winner takes all. Click here for the Albuquerque Dragway Facebook page for this and other big events.
