Muncie Dragway Getting Ready for Two Huge Racing Weekends

MUNCIE, IN — Muncie Dragway is hosting the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser as part of the three-day Big Bucks Shootout on June 21-23. The track will host an IHRA Ironman Classic the following Saturday, June 29.

The Big Bucks Shootout starts Friday night with Gamblers races that pay $1,000 to the Box winner and $800 to the No Box winner. There is a $50 entry fee for Box and a $40 entry fee for No Box.

There’s even bigger money on Saturday and Sunday. The Box class has a $5,000-to-win race on each day and No Box racers are competing for $2,000 winner’s purses. There’s a $100 single-day entry fee for the Box class and $190 for the weekend package or $350 for the double weekend. It’s $80 one day in No Box, $160 for the weekend or $275 for the double-weekend package.

Friday’s Gamblers races are free with the purchase of a weekend package. There’s also a $1,400-to-win Second Chance race Saturday following the main event with a $65 entry. Junior Dragsters will also compete Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to all that, racers in Box, No Box, Sportsman and Junior Dragster classes will compete for prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies and the very popular oversized championship checks on Saturday. IHRA members will also be in the running for limited-edition Sportsman Spectacular commemorative medals.

Exciting opportunities await as racers can gain entry to the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering by winning Saturday’s main event in conjunction with entering at least two other IHRA races (an IHRA-member track Summit SuperSeries team race or Sportsman Spectacular) before the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals. Current IHRA membership is required.

Gates open at 2 p.m. Friday with a test-and-tune from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and racing to follow. Gates open at 9 a.m. Saturday with time runs at 10 a.m. and then racing. Gates open at 9 a.m. Sunday with new entry and Junior test-and-tune at 10 a.m. followed by racing.

Make sure you’re eligible to take advantage of the great opportunity to compete for a spot in the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals. Visit our membership center or call 85.JOIN.IHRA where IHRA membership coordinator Heather Roth or director of racer relations Staci Kettles will help get you on track.
