Bunker Hill Dragstrip to Host IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser in Two Weeks

BUNKER HILL, IN — More history will be coming to Bunker Hill Dragstrip in two weeks when the historic track hosts the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering on Saturday, July 6.

Racers in Top (Box), Mod (No Box), Sportsman, Motorcycle and Junior Dragster classes will compete for prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies and the very popular oversized championship checks. IHRA members will also be in the running for limited-edition Sportsman Spectacular commemorative medals.

They can gain entry to the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering by winning Saturday’s main event in conjunction with entering at least two other IHRA races (an IHRA-member track Summit SuperSeries team race or Sportsman Spectacular) before the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals.

Current IHRA membership is required so get your membership up to date before the July 1 deadline.

Drivers in the Top E.T. class sponsored by Bellman Oil and the Mod E.T. class sponsored by Johnson Performance will each race for a $1,000 winner’s purse. There is a $55 entry fee and double entry is permitted.

All Seasons General Contracting is sponsoring the Sportsman class which features $500 to the winner with a $35 entry fee. Fisher Auto Body is presenting the Motorcycle class. The winner will receive $500 plus 80 percent of the entry’s split between the winner (70 percent) and runner-up (30 percent). Double entry is permitted in both classes.

The Junior Dragster class sponsored by Brandts Heating, Cooling and Electrical features a $250 winner’s purse and just a $25 entry. No double entries are allowed for the Juniors.

Gates open at 11 a.m. with time trials to start at 1 p.m. There’s a $10 cost for spectators with kids 12-under admitted free.

For the racers, make sure you’re eligible for all the IHRA benefits by making sure you’re a current IHRA member. Visit our membership center or call 85.JOIN.IHRA (855-646-4472) where our IHRA membership coordinator Heather Roth and IHRA director of racer relations Staci Kettles will help take you through the process of getting on track.
