Gosnell Doubles Up With IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Victories at Bunker Hill Dragstrip

BUNKER HILL, IN — Zack Gosnell made history at historic Bunker Hill Dragstrip on Saturday night by doubling up as the winner of both the Top (Box) and Mod (No Box) classes at the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering.

Other Sportsman Spectacular winners included: Jim Andrysiak in Sportsman, Tyler Fisher in Motorcycle and Treson Ambrose in Junior Dragster. The drivers not only landed in the Coan Engineering Winner’s Circle, but also punched their tickets to the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering.

Gosnell took home two of the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies, big checks and commemorative medals. He defeated Morgan Wood in the Bellman Oil Top final as Wood fouled at the start. With the race in hand, Gosnell cruised down the track in 7.935 seconds on a 5.52 dial-in.

The Johnson Performance Mod class also saw Gosnell emerge as the winner as Stephanie Burns red-lighted by a scant -.007 second. Gosnell posted a solid .018 reaction time.

Andrysiak captured the All Seasons General Contracting Sportsman win as C Eaton broke out in the final round. Andrysiak’s winning combination included an 8.049-second run at 90.78 mph against an 8.03 dial-in. Eaton had a little better start .059 to .067, but finished in 7.931 seconds at 88.03 mph against a 7.40 dial-in.

Fisher double-entered and won both sides of the bracket to run unopposed in the Fisher Body Shop Motorcycle presented by Miami County Metals final. Fisher had a bye in one semifinal and posted a 5.971-second run at 117.31 mph on a 5.95 dial-in to win the other semifinal.

Ambrose won the Brandt’s Heating, Cooling & Electrical Junior Dragster final over Addison Jones, who was No. 7 in the IHRA National Top 10 final rankings in 2023. Ambrose was quicker at the start with a .041 reaction time to .138 for Jones as both racers broke out against their dial-in numbers.

The IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering is scheduled to return July 20 at Quaker City Motorsports Park and July 27 at Ethridge Motorsports Park.
