Xtreme Raceway Park Races to Third Straight IHRA Division 4 Summit Team Finals Title

FERRIS, TX — Xtreme Raceway Park is the IHRA Division 4 (Renegades) Summit Team Finals champion for the third straight year.

The host track won 67-43 over runner-up Edinburg Motorsports Park. Paris Dragstrip was one point behind in third. Wichita Raceway Park, Little River Dragway, Penwell Knights Raceway, Amarillo Dragway and Albuquerque Dragway also had teams which competed.

Xtreme racers faced off in the Top (Box) final round with Scott Wallace besting 2023 IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Champion Jeromy Hefler. Wallace had a tremendous .002 start which was the difference. He then posted a 6.284-second run at 105.76 mph. Hefler, racing like the champion he is, went 6.177 seconds at 109.60 mph on a 6.17 dial-in after a .028 reaction time. There were 167 entries in this class.

Jake Howard matched his 6.37 dial-in time at 102.83 mph to win the No Box final of Xtreme racers. Howard also had a slight advantage .051 to .058 in reaction time over Randall Vinyard, who broke out on his 6.90 dial-in with a 6.884-second pass at 93.38 mph.

Robert Schoemer, representing Penwell Knights, won on a holeshot in Sportsman. He went down the track in 8.234 seconds at 78.12 mph on an 8.21 dial-in, along with a .061 reaction time. Runner-up Logan Penrod from Wichita Raceway Park left in .133 seconds, but posted an outstanding run of 7.475 seconds at 90.13 mph on his 7.47 dial-in.

Little River Dragway rider Chaz Landers rolled to the win in the Motorcycle final with a .058 start and a run at 6.723 seconds and 75.58 mph. Jeramy Tally from Penwell Knights had problems at the start and throughout his run at 10.926 seconds and 38.75 mph.

Tate Hildebrandt, representing Edinburg Motorsports Park, won the Junior Dragster main event for a second straight year. His repeat performance in the final included a .028 reaction time to go along with an 8.840-second elapsed time at 54.79 mph on an 8.16 dial-in. Hannah Thompson fouled at the start which ended a potential winning effort of 8.109 seconds at 76.65 mph on an 8.10 dial-in.

Track managers faced off with Mike Garvin from Little River taking the win on a holeshot over Stephanie Tabor from Amarillo. Garvin powered down the strip in 8.938 seconds at 69.77 mph on an 8.80 dial-in. Tabor came close to her 10.10 dial-in time with a 10.195-second run at 68.18 mph.
