IHRA Division 8 and 9 Summit Team Finals to Take Place This Weekend

HOUSE SPRINGS, MO — It’s double the fun with two IHRA Summit Team Finals scheduled for this weekend.

The IHRA Division 8 (South) Summit Team Finals take place at Rocket City Dragway in Harvest, Alabama. The IHRA Division 9 (Raiders) Summit Team Finals are slated for Darlington Dragway in Hartsville, South Carolina.

Rocket City Dragway, the former Huntsville Dragway, was first sanctioned by IHRA in 1975 and has hosted many big events over the years.

Division 8 (South) tracks are: Alabama International Dragway, Knoxville Dragway, Crossville Dragway, Lassiter Mountain Dragway and Rocket City Dragway. Alabama International Dragway is the defending IHRA Division 8 champion.

Darlington Dragway has a deep history with IHRA. The track was built in 1976 by Harold Brasington and Woodrow Hall under the guidance of IHRA founder Larry Carrier.

Division 9 (Raiders) teams represented come from: Pageland Dragway, Wilkesboro Dragway, South Carolina Motorplex, Shadyside Dragway, Piedmont Dragway, Darlington Dragway and 710 Dragway.

Parking for the IHRA Division 9 Summit Team Finals start Thursday at 10 a.m. Friday includes a Gamblers race with the main event scheduled for Saturday.
