World Champion Bigham, Denton, Hagler, Varner score Gamblers wins at IHRA Division 8 Summit Team Finals

HARVEST, AL — David Bigham, the 2021 IHRA Summit SuperSeries World, headlined the list of Thursday Gamblers winners at the IHRA Division 8 (South) Summit Team Finals.

Bigham was the winner in the Sportsman class at Rocket City Dragway. Frankie Denton Jr. (Box), Jonathan Hagler (No Box) and Josiah Varner were others who raced to Thursday victories.

Denton was the winner in an all-Knoxville Dragway showdown in the Box class where Kaleb McDaniel was his final-round opponent.

Hagler from Knoxville Dragway posted the winning effort in the Mod (No Box) final. Ken Hebert, who represented Crossville Dragway, also advanced to the final round.

Bigham, in the familiar white Plymouth Duster, also represented Crossville Dragway in the Sportsman class. He faced off with Warren Howard from Alabama International Dragway in the final.

Josiah Varner from Alabama International Raceway raced to the Junior Dragster victory as Collin Pritchett from Knoxville Dragway was runner-up.

More racing was scheduled for Friday with the main event slated for Saturday.
