The track was ground out using GPS navigation to compensate for any fluctuations in the base layer prior to being paved.  A 14' center section of the track was repaved from the end of the concrete through the finish line using a laser guided level to ensure a smooth and flat finish.  Track GM Ron Biekx inspected the finished product and noted that "the surface looks awesome."  

IHRA makes their annual stop at Grand Bend Motorplex June 24-26, 2016 for the Mopar Canadian Nationals presented by Williams Racing.  This year's event is the sixth stop on the 2016 IHRA Drag Racing Series Tour and will also feature a double Summit Pro-Am Tour event for sportsman competitors.
