Quaker City Motorsports Park Earns Three-Peat at IHRA Division 3 Summit Team Finals

SALEM, OH — Quaker City Motorsports Park raced to its third straight IHRA Division 3 (North Stars) Summit Team Finals championship on Saturday night.

The home track scored a 64.5 to 60 victory over runner-up Dragway 42. Kil-Kare Raceway, Kuhnle Motorsports Park, Pacemakers Outlaws Motorsports Park and Kentucky Dragway also had racers who competed.

Brittany Dumonte from Dragway 42 had a near perfect .002 start to go along with a 6.440-second elapsed time at 105.81 on a 6.43 dial-in for the Top (Box) victory. Lisa Boes, also from Dragway 42, was runner-up, going 4.818 seconds at 140.14 mph on a 4.80 dial-in with a .029 reaction time.

Quaker City’s Mark Miller won the Mod (No Box) final with a 6.638-second pass at 99.87 mph against a 6.61 dial-in with a .015 reaction time. J Gregory from Dragway 42 fouled at the start. He then went down the track in 6.342 seconds at 84.25 mph.

Former IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Champion Joe Tharp Jr. from Quaker City took the Sportsman trophy. He had the terrific .003 reaction time and then went 7.532 seconds at 85.58 mph on a 7.51 dial-in. Jerry Coblentz, also from Quaker City, had a 8.261-second run at 82.15 mph on an 8.27 dial-in after a .043 start.

Kil-Kare Raceway riders faced off in the Motorcycle final with Austin Stidham taking the win with a 5.529-second pass at 115.77 mph on a 5.45 dial-in with a .019 reaction time. Roger Wilhelm Jr. was a little quicker at the tree, .014, but further off his 5.68 dial-in with a 5.799-second run at 115.18 mph.

Kaiden Travis from Kil-Kare won the Junior Dragster final with a 9.338-second pass at 69.28 mph on a 9.30 dial-in. Shyanne Polan from Pacemakers went 7.931 seconds at 81.18 mph against a 7.91-second dial-in. Travis had the better reaction time .075 to .109 which led to the win.

The event also featured a Teen Championship Race with a pair of Quaker City racers. Liam Miller posted the winning run of 9.917 seconds at 73.61 mph against a 9.91 dial-in. M Randolph broke out with a 9.995 second-pass at 72.73 mph on a 10.01 dial-in time.
