Bugaj rolled in deep, a foul.

Mercure caught Teuton just past half track to win by about 12 feet. Mercure
lost lane choice to Hill.

Greene led all the way, catching Bogan before the 60-foot timer, but he lost

Yamarino was a no-show and Brannon took it easy on the car, giving up lane

6:48 PM - The air temperature was 68 degrees at 58 percent humidity with a
barometric pressure of 30.07 and steady. The sky was overcast with clouds moving in
under a setting sun. The stands are packed here this evening as the first pair --
two white 1969 Camaros -- pulled up to stage. Brannon was too quick at the tree and
lit the red light so Cavataio got the automatic win.

Hill had a tremendous wheelstand during the first round of qualifying on
Friday. He went up on just the rear left wheel and veered hard to the right toward
the wall. He was able to bring the car down without any damage and has been running
well since. This pair had almost identical reaction times and that hurt Hill
because he really needed to beat Mercure at the tree to have a shot winning.

Morgan had the quicker start and stayed out in front the entire way down the
track. He lost lane choice to Mercure in the next round.

Adams had a second-round bye. He could have run hard to try to win lane
choice over Cavataio in the next round but decided instead to save the car and
cruise into the third round.

7:53 PM - This was Mustang against Camaro in the first pair of the Top Stock
semi-final. The air temperature was 59 degrees at 88 percent humidity with a
barometric pressure of 30.07 and steady. Morgan pulled a huge wheelstand as he came
off the starting line and got sideways as he brought the front end down. Mercure
will go on to the final round.

8:23 PM - At the start of the final round of Top Stock, the air temperature
was 58 degrees at 89 percent humidity. The barometric pressure was 30.08 and
steady. Mercure had a much better tree and was ahead for the first 60 feet but
Adams made up the difference plus more by the 330 foot mark. This win gives Adams
the season championship
