driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Dale Brand Runs 6.139/238.68, Now #1
Right Lane: Jimmy Rector Runs 9.885/82.51, Now #2
Looks like we could have a preview of the final here in the first pair out.
Rector had a lot of tire shake and clicked it off. Brand carried the front end for
a couple hundred feet and pedaled it before driving it on through the quarter
mile.
Left Lane: Laurie Cannister Runs 6.021/236.13, Now #2
Right Lane: Rob Atchison Runs 5.847/238.43, Now #1
Cannister drove through tire shake. Atchison with a 0.963 second 60-foot time
and blasted on through with a nice looking pass.
Left Lane: Scott Wildgust Runs 6.648/224.88, Now #4
Right Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 9.496/94.33, Now #5
McMillen with trouble about half track and clicked it off. Wildgust gets it
down the track.
Left Lane: Larry Dobbs Runs 6.057/233.16, Now #3
Right Lane: Paul Zgoda Runs 6.442/225.22, Now #5
Zgoda drove through some tire shake. Dobbs with a nice pass.
Left Lane: Ronnie Midyette Runs 5.919/237.25, Now #2

Midyette jumped into the number two spot with a good looking pass here,
Rastelli launched into violent tire shake and clicked it off.
Left Lane: Mike Comella Runs 5.950/224.47, Now #3
Right Lane: Jeff Lancaster Runs 6.535/212.86, Now #8
Comella was on a great looking pass until about 1200 feet and it looked like
he lost an engine. Lancaster got into the top half of the show for now.

Foster dipped into the five second zone.
Right Lane: Mark Thomas Runs 5.932/236.88, Now #3
Thomas with a lot of tires shake around 100 feet down track, but stayed with

Midyette with another good looking pass, but had a puff of smoke on the top
end. Lancaster made a move in the right direction, but hurt the engine on the top
end and there is oil in his lane.

Thomas launched hard with the quickest 60-foot time of the session with a
0.981 seconds. The engine then went silent around half track. Wildgust made a move
in the right direction.

Foster with a real nice look pass as he drove through tire shake around 200

Zgoda was scheduled to run, but didn't even do a burnout. Cannister was on a
single and almost matched her time from yesterday.

It looked like Thomas' car wasn't in gear or came out of gear when he hit the
throttle. No help for Etter.

Lancaster didn't make it up here for the pass. Dobbs got out of the groove
around 330 feet and close to the centerline, but reeled it back in.

Brand with another good pass to make it three consistent passes in a row.
Zgoda had problems early in the run and started to spay stuff on the track starting
at about 330 feet and we are down for a clean up.
Report from the top end is
Zgoda lost his transmission and when it did apparently some parts got into his leg.
He is going to the hospital to get checked out.

Dobbs was out of the gate first and then Thomas had major problems right off
the stating line and coasted top a stop about 400 feet down track. Report is that
Thomas had a engine explosion and we have oil on the track.

This is the fourth time these two have met in the finals with Rector winning
all the previous final round matchups. Brand with the starting line advantage, but
then it was all Rector until about half track when Rector had trouble and Brand
drove around him for his second National event win in a row.
