Left Lane: Johnny Mancuso Runs 6.579/210.77, Now #1
Right Lane: Ray Price Runs 12.609/78.03, Now #2
12:25 PM Price's bike sounded sour and he was leaning way off th left side
before giving it up. Excellent run by Mancuso, straight and smooth, the front
wheel in the air for about 1,000 feet.
Left Lane: Mark Cox No Time, Now #4
Right Lane: Steve Stordeur Runs 6.566/204.57, Now #1
Cox went about two feet and stopped. Stordeur matched his team owner's run
and then some, also carrying the front wheel way down the track.
Left Lane: Mark Conner Runs 7.342/138.88, Now #3
Right Lane: Joe Timmons No Time, Now #5
Timmons' chain broke on the launch. Conner was strong to 330 feet, then
lost ground to the Mancuso bikes.
Left Lane: Mike Romine Runs 6.741/198.47, Now #4
Right Lane: Doug Vancil Runs 6.532/205.85, Now #1
Two good-looking runs, Romine losing ground to Vancil from 330 feet on.
Vancil leapfrogged the two Mancuso riders to take over the top spot.

Right Lane: Joe Scatella Runs 8.077/157.65, Now #7
Scatella had the front wheel up for the first 300 feet, but then the engine
went sour and the front wheel came down hard. Romine made a clean pass, a bit
off-pace at every incremental timer.

6:43 PM Conner is riding Jim McClure's bike this weekend. He pulls the front
wheel off the ground and sets it down about 300 feet out. About 100 feet out he
shuts down. Vancil kept the front wheel off the ground for about 700 feet, cracks
the throttle and finally gets the front wheel to come down.

right down the groove. Price started moving toward the wall right off the line.
