2:34 PM Nelson has added a "bus driver" at the front of the "Cool Bus," but
we all know he's hiding somewhere back near the middle of the bus.

Jones' afterburner sputtered a bit on the launch, one of the tower comedians
calling it "Burner Shake." The burner flame flickered on and off rapidly for
several second before finally settling down to a steady roar.
Left Lane: Bob Motz Runs 7.770/207.23, Now #2
No Prior Run
Motz' engine is about three times as powerful as the one in Jones' dragster
and so are the burner pops and flame show. Awesome!! When he launched, the blast
rearranged much of the starting-line signage, and the overflow crowd stayed put
until the big Jet Kenworth cleared the finish line.

9:45 PM It's dark and the exhibition runs tonight are punctuated by
fireworks. Nelson kept the "Cool Bus" on the rear tires well past the finish line,
quicker and faster than his pass this afternoon.

After a short break while Bobby Lagana, Jr, paid off a qualifying bet with
Grant Flowers by doing 50 pushups in the middle of the track, Jones took his jet
train for another quick lap down the New York International Raceway Park quarter
mile.

Best prior run: 7.770/207.23, Was #2
Motz once again closes the "Night of Fire" with a quicker, louder, faster
version of the show he put on this afternoon, this time in the dark!

4:34 PM Nelson "breaks the ton" on his final pass with the wheelstanding
"Cool Bus."

Jones's performance fell off a bit on his final pass, the hot conditions
hurting the jet train's performance.

Motz closed the show with his big jet Kenworth, also losing a couple tenths
of a second in the hot afternoon weather - but the crowd loved it nonetheless.
