rear wheels for the quarter mile - and the firetruck gets there first, just under a
hundred miles per hour.

beer garden spectators alongside the staging area running, then cranks the big jet
Kenworth up for yet another awesome run.

9:51 PM We almost had side-by-side wheelstanders in the same lane, Oswell
losing his bearings, steadily drifting right, taking out the half-track timing
reflectors. He pulled the Willys back into the left lane and completed the run.
Nelson never saw the fire truck, well ahead from the start, though it looked close
from the starting line.

Motz' show is impressive any time, but after dark, with the lights out, it's
doubly so. His elapsed time earlier today was slowed when he rolled the beams, but
this was a green-light start.

3:22 PM Oswell's problem last night wasn't visibility, it was an overheated
brake that pulled him to the right. Two nice wheelstanding passes here, Ladder
Truck 33 a little quicker than the Cool Bus.

Motz cranks the big jet Kenworth up another notch for the finale, making his
quickest and fastest run of the weekend.
