Results for Qualifying 1

DINWIDDIE, Va. - SUMMIT FastNews - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Sunoco Pro Stock at the CompetitionPlus.com IHRA Spring Open presented by Lizzard Racing listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Chris Holbrook Runs 6.657/207.27, Now #1
Right Lane: Tony Fox No Time, Now #2
12:23 PM Lots of excitement for Fox, a fuel line coming loose under the hood on the burnout, producing a bit of a fire. After the excitement died down, Holbrook laid down his best pass of the weekend, with a 1.021-second 60-foot time and a smooth, straight run.
Left Lane: Angelo Alesci Runs 12.371/66.59, Now #2
Alesci's Monte Carlo shook and headed for the wall after a 1.023 60-foot time, so he shut it off.

Results for Qualifying 2

DINWIDDIE, Va. - SUMMIT FastNews - Notes from final, round 2 qualifying in Sunoco Pro Stock at the CompetitionPlus.com IHRA Spring Open presented by Lizzard Racing listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Tony Fox Runs 8.020/157.25, Now #3
                                  No Prior Run
Right Lane: Angelo Alesci Runs 6.710/205.79, Now #2
Best prior run: 12.371/66.59, Was #2
Fox's car was all over the lane on the launch and he shut it down, but Alesci made a nice run, smooth and clean, with a 1.043 60-foot time and a solid time.
Right Lane: Chris Holbrook Runs 6.688/206.35, Now #1
Best prior run: 6.657/207.27, Was #1
Holbrook has been extremely consistent since he unloaded the car Thursday. Once again he had a 1.02 60-foot time and once again a 6.68 ET. He will have lane choice against Alesci in the final round.
Right Lane: John Montecalvo No Time, Now #4
                                  No Prior Run
Montecalvo rolled his new Cavalier out of the trailer when he arrived last night, cautioning the crew to use the tires to move the car because he didn't want any fingerprints in the fresh paint. This was a planned launch check and the car showed its potential with a string-straight 1.022 60-foot time and a 2.865 second 330-foot time, where he shut it off.
