DINWIDDIE, Va. - SUMMIT FastNews - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Funny
Car at the CompetitionPlus.com IHRA Spring Open presented by Lizzard Racing listing
lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: John Vouros Runs 6.383/190.32, Now #1
12:34 PM If we were racing to half track, Vouros would be in very good
shape, clocked at 0.969 second at 60 feet and 3.854 seconds, 190.32 mph at half
track. But the car was out of the groove and Vouros lifted, coasting across the
line.
Left Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 6.042/228.13, Now #1
Good pass for McMillen, clean and straight, but then his chute hung on the
wheelie bars and he used all of the runoff area to get it stopped. From the top
the safety crew called "He used 3,996 feet to get it stopped." The pavement ends
4,000 feet from the starting line.
