Here we go with round one of the Sunoco Pro Stock Shootout the winner will take home $20,000 tonight. Montecalvo with a lot of tire shake and he shut it off. Lee was out of the gate first and never looked back.

Baker was out of the gate first and never looked back to hold off the hard charging Tom Lee. Margin of victory = 0.023 seconds (approximately 7 feet). Baker with his first Pro Stock win and it is the big one taking home $20,000.

11:22 AM Under cloudy skies with a brisk left-to-right breeze blowing across the track, the professional competitors begin their eliminations. As usual, we open with the two closest-qualified cars in Pro Stock and Morton uses a holeshot to gain the win. Margin of victory = 0.025 seconds (approximately 8 feet).

Not much difference at the start, but Rice had the top end power to open a lead and get the win light. Margin of victory = 0.022 seconds (approximately 7 feet).

Konigshofer rolled in first and then went in deep, but his starting line advantage wasn't quite enough to turn the trick. Margin of victory = 0.020 seconds (approximately 6 feet).

These two left right together and that was bad news for Kirk, Gahm "on his game" once again and an easy winner. Margin of victory = 0.042 seconds (approximately 13 feet).

Bartunek made an impressive improvement in the final round of qualifying and Lee went to the finals in the Sunoco Shootout. The race was as good as expected, Lee's early lead making the difference. Margin of victory = 0.035 seconds (approximately 11 feet). Lee loses lane choice to Gahm in round two.

Baker's hot streak continues, a great light and an easy win. He also gets to pick the lanes against Miller next round.

Nabors almost let this one get away from him, nipping Fox in the last few feet. Margin of victory = 0.009 seconds (approximately 3 feet). Nabors has lane choice against Rice in round two.

 (L) Chris Holbrook (Livernoise M'Sports Mustang) 0.450     9.399 112.99
Wilson does it all here, a super light and low ET of the round for an easy win against Holbrook, who went into tire shake about 100 feet out, his car skating all over the track, forcing him to shut it down.

3:13 PM The rains are gone and the sunshine and wind aided track drying. Rice left first, but Nabors made up the difference in the first 60 feet and then pulled steadily ahead for the win. Margin of victory = 0.046 seconds (approximately 14 feet).

 (L) Tom Lee (Mustang Parts Mustang)              0.530     6.669 207.15
Gahm left Lee sitting at the tree and Lee could not make up the deficit. Holeshot win for Gahm. Margin of victory = 0.012 seconds (approximately 4 feet).

Baker slapped a holeshot on Miller and then opened the lead even more. Margin of victory = 0.061 seconds (approximately 18 feet). But Baker loses lane choice in the semifinals to Nabors.

About the only way to get a holeshot against Wilson is to go red...Wilson runs low ET of the round once again, earning lane choice against Gahm in the semifinals.

6:08 PM Baker has been tough on the tree all day, but Wilson's performance edge has been worth a few hundredths in each round today and he's also been right on time. Wilson wins on a holeshot, Baker right there all the way down the track and Wilson winning by less than his starting line advantage. Good drag race! Margin of victory = 0.011 seconds (approximately 3 feet).
