Stock at the 3rd annual Mopar Parts World Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed

Right Lane: Gene Wilson Runs 6.665/208.68, Now #4
Best prior run: 6.712/208.68, Was #7
7:13 PM The final qualifying session opens with Angelo Alesci on the bubble
at 6.759. Rice's car turned hard right on the launch and he had to call it off.
Nice pass by Wilson to move way up in the top part of the field.
Left Lane: Ron Miller Runs 6.647/209.98, Now #2
Best prior run: 6.653/211.03, Was #2
Right Lane: Angelo Alesci Runs 6.754/206.86, Now #15
Best prior run: 6.759/206.86, Was #16
Alesci moves off the bubble, but not very far. In this good air, he's in
peril.
Left Lane: Kenny Benso Runs 7.130/176.26, Now #18
Best prior run: 6.808/202.61, Was #18
Right Lane: Steve Spiess Runs 6.669/209.39, Now #5
Best prior run: 6.697/210.01, Was #6
Benso got way to the left of the groove, near the wall, and had to lift to
get back in the groove. Nice pass by Spiess, safely in the top part of the
field.
Left Lane: Chris Holbrook Runs 6.749/207.62, Now #11
Best prior run: 6.725/208.75, Was #11
Right Lane: Jerry Yeoman Runs 6.654/208.97, Now #3
Best prior run: 6.719/208.36, Was #9
Holbrook's car also moved to the left of the groove, near the wall, and
wiggled a couple times before he got it reined in, the excursion probably hurting
his ET. Nice, smooth, straight pass by Yeoman.
Left Lane: Jason Collins Runs 6.697/207.72, Now #8
Best prior run: 6.717/208.14, Was #9
Right Lane: Wally Stroupe Runs 6.801/204.05, Now #13
Best prior run: 6.748/206.64, Was #13
Collins moved into the top half of the field - for now at least - with a
solid run but Stroupe fell off the pace on the top end, couldn't see why.
Left Lane: Chuck Demory Runs 6.857/203.06, Now #20
Best prior run: 6.837/203.00, Was #20
Right Lane: Carl Baker Runs 6.712/208.88, Now #10
Best prior run: 6.738/207.66, Was #12
Demory's car was very tail-happy and that hurt his ET. Baker made a pretty
good pass to knock off "a couple hun."
Left Lane: Tim Nabors Runs 9.347/97.70, Now #12
Best prior run: 6.724/207.30, Was #11
Right Lane: Robert Killian Runs 6.717/206.89, Now #11
Best prior run: 6.749/206.23, Was #14
Nabors launched with the wheels up and the car made a hard move to the right,
toward the centerline, when they came down. Killian went right down the
groove.
Left Lane: Mike Bell Runs 6.863/200.05, Now #22
Best prior run: 6.908/202.97, Was #21
Right Lane: Mike del Nagro Runs 6.804/203.52, Now #18
No Prior Run
Left Lane: Ed Machacek Runs 6.692/207.27, Now #8
Best prior run: 6.711/208.49, Was #9
Right Lane: Tim Bell Runs 6.786/205.19, Now #17
Best prior run: 6.787/205.91, Was #17
Dwayne Rice had to be nervous here, his 6.755 the mark Bell was shooting at.
Bell came up just short. Machacek made a nice run to move up into the
all-important top half of the field, lane choice in round one if he can stay
there.
Right Lane: Floyd Cheek Runs 6.659/209.17, Now #4
Best prior run: 6.825/203.22, Was #20
Cheek bumps Rice on an awesome recovery from two bad earlier runs, the new
Cougar still in shakedown mode.
Right Lane: David Jenkins Runs 6.761/205.85, Now #18
Best prior run: 11.490/75.79, Was #23
Alesci was back on the bubble for Jenkins' run, but Jenkins came up 0.007
seconds short.
Right Lane: John Montecalvo Runs 6.651/207.85, Now #3
Best prior run: 6.671/209.17, Was #8
Montecalvo finds a few hundredths and moves up into the extreme top part of
the field to close qualifying for the Pro Stock competitors - except for the two
cars in the Sunoco Showdown, that is.
Left Lane: Jon Yoak Runs 6.613/211.69, Now #2
Best prior run: 6.664/210.83, Was #6
Right Lane: Tom Lee Runs 6.586/211.30, Now #1
Best prior run: 6.639/211.56, Was #1
9:12 PM This is also the Sunoco Showdown final round, but it also figures to
shuffle the top part of the field. And Lee turns in the quickest ET in history -
and his earlier 6.639 backs this up as a World ET record.
