Results for Elimination Round 1

GILLIAM, La. - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Outlaw at the 3rd annual Mopar Parts World Finals:

 W/L Driver RT ET Speed

 (W) Mike Decker (Spitzer-Chevy) 0.444 6.220 216.10
 (L) Jeff Chatterson (Gaddy-Ford) 0.680 7.283 130.89
The Ford vs. Chevy matchup. Chatterson was late off the starting line and then launched into violent tire shake and that was the end of his day. Decker marches into round two.
 (W) Mick Snyder (Snyder Racing Spitzer-Chevy) 0.409 6.112 218.65
 (L) Dave Christensen (Spitzer-Chevy) 0.410 6.884 148.35
They left together, but after that is was all Snyder to move into the semi-finals. The safety crew roll out on to the track now, apparently Christensen put oil out on the track. Snyder kept his Championship Title hopes alive, slim but alive.
 (W) Laurie Cannister (Nicorette/Nicoderm Spitzer0.432 6.147 218.51
 (L) Karen Haddock (BOS-Chevy) 0.461 8.655 101.45
The two women to make the show match up here. Cannister needs to go one round further than Snyder to clinch the last Pro Outlaw championship title. Haddock had a some tire shake and then a puff of smoke from her engine and that was the end of her day. Cannister was out of the gate first and never looked back. She will lose lane choice to Snyder. She can win it all by putting Snyder away next round.
 (W) Michael Barclay (Huntsville Engine '23-T For0.529 6.163 222.47
 (L) Mark McElwee (Powershield Spitzer-Chevy) 0.468 6.327 213.77
McElwee strapped a hole shot on Barclay, but Barclay was able to chase him down by half track. Barclay took the only Altered in the field into round two and will have lane choice over Decker.

Saturday

 (L) Laurie Cannister (Nicorette/Nicoderm Spitzer0.669 6.191 217.00
