10:57 PM The Night of Fire concludes with
wheelstanders and jets and
fireworks. This turned out to be a great matchup, the
"Cool Bus" against the
"Hemi Under Glass." They were side-by-side all the
way down the strip.
Left Lane: Toby Ermintraut Runs 5.086/278.63, Now #1
Right Lane: Jessica Willard Runs 5.267/303.23, Now #2
Ermintraut's "Odyssey" flamed out well
before the finish line, but had
enough momentum to get there ahead of Willard's "Queen of
Diamonds" anyway.
Right Lane: Bob Motz Runs 7.631/214.55, Now #3
As usual, Bob Motz closed out the show with his
jet Kenworth truck. Awesome
is the only phrase to describe this unique show, the sight of a
full-size tractor
running over 200 mph - and then stopping with two huge chutes a
great way to end
the day.
