Left Lane: Michael Barclay Runs 13.443/64.61, Now #2
Right Lane: Dave Christensen Runs 6.354/212.36, Now #1
12:10 AM Big block blown altered versus blown smallblock dragster. The altered tried to turn left and Barclay saved it for another day. Good opening pass by Christensen.
Left Lane: Mike Decker Runs 6.334/183.67, Now #1
Right Lane: Mick Snyder Runs 8.078/111.69, Now #3
Decker made a good launch, the wheels about a foot up. Snyder shook hard and shut it down.
Left Lane: Grant Flowers Runs 6.824/195.45, Now #4
Right Lane: Laurie Cannister Runs 6.170/218.09, Now #1
Cannister shook the tires on the launch and drove through it for a solid first pass. Flowers' altered was very loose early in the run, lots of tire spin.
Left Lane: Scott Ray Runs 6.594/204.01, Now #4
Right Lane: Randy Fraker Runs 6.784/196.96, Now #5
Ray's injected big block (700 CI) did the job, putting him in the middle of the field. Fraker's smallblock was slow off the line and steadily lost ground to Ray.
Left Lane: Karen Haddock Runs 6.970/149.43, Now #8
Right Lane: Ed Lyons Runs 6.479/208.81, Now #4
Haddock made a good launch, but the car slowed on the top end. Lyons left softly, then came on strong on the top end.

Results for Qualifying 2

EPPING, N.H. - SUMMIT FastNews - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Outlaw at the 5th annual Amalie Oil Northern Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Ed Lyons Runs 6.490/210.21, Now #5
Best prior run: 6.479/208.81, Was #4
Right Lane: Neal Parker Runs 6.216/227.65, Now #2
                                  No Prior Run
12:01 PM Parker didn't make an attempt yesterday, so this was his first lap of the event. His Fiat-bodied altered shook hard on the launch, skating around so badly that he had to get completely out of the throttle to get it reined in - and he still ran quickly enough to take over the second rung on the ladder.
Left Lane: Randy Fraker Runs 6.667/200.89, Now #7
Best prior run: 6.784/196.96, Was #7
Right Lane: Karen Haddock Runs 6.952/205.51, Now #9
Best prior run: 6.970/149.43, Was #9
Haddock also shook hard, so hard she had to backpedal just off the starting line, killing her ET.
Left Lane: Laurie Cannister Runs 6.147/218.62, Now #1
Best prior run: 6.170/218.09, Was #1
Right Lane: Scott Ray Runs 16.930/60.35, Now #6
Best prior run: 6.594/204.01, Was #6
Ray's injected mountain motor dragster shook so hard that there were several inches of air between the rear tires and the launch pad. Nice pass by Cannister, clean and straight and very quick.
Left Lane: Dave Christensen Runs 6.333/213.33, Now #4
Best prior run: 6.354/212.36, Was #4
Right Lane: Mike Decker Runs 6.186/209.52, Now #2
Best prior run: 6.334/183.67, Was #3
Decker made the first shake-free launch in the right lane and the run was straight and true, putting him in right behind Cannister atop the ladder.
Left Lane: Mick Snyder Runs 6.111/220.69, Now #1
Best prior run: 8.078/111.69, Was #10
Right Lane: Michael Barclay Runs 6.155/221.82, Now #3
                                  No Prior Run
A pair of "baddies" here, both cars capable of running right with Cannister - and they did just that, Snyder taking over the top spot and Barclay putting his awesome altered in just behind Cannister, the top four in the six-teens.
Right Lane: Grant Flowers No Time, Now #10
Best prior run: 6.824/195.45, Was #10
Flowers was shut off on the line with an oil leak.

Results for Qualifying 3

EPPING, N.H. - SUMMIT FastNews - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Pro Outlaw at the 5th annual Amalie Oil Northern Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Michael Barclay Runs 13.171/84.81, Now #3
Best prior run: 6.155/221.82, Was #3
Right Lane: Mick Snyder Runs 6.097/218.72, Now #1
Best prior run: 6.111/220.69, Was #1
7:14 PM Massive shake ended Barclay's run very quickly, but Snyder made an almost perfect run to garner our first "oh" of the weekend.
Left Lane: Grant Flowers No Time, Now #10
Best prior run: 6.824/195.45, Was #10
Right Lane: Dave Christensen No Time, Now #6
Best prior run: 6.333/213.33, Was #6
Flowers' altered is "the Voodooist." He needs more "good juju" however, the car getting very loose, taking out the 660-foot timing reflectors, Dq'ing the run (which was too slow to make the field anyway). Christensen left before the tree was activated, so got no time.
Left Lane: Karen Haddock Runs 6.350/212.43, Now #7
Best prior run: 6.952/205.51, Was #11
Right Lane: Laurie Cannister Runs 6.097/218.62, Now #2
Best prior run: 6.147/218.62, Was #2
Ladies night out, a pair of female drivers paired up here -- and both turned in very good runs, Cannister matching Snyder's ET, losing the #1 spot by virtue of Snyder's better speed, and Haddock in the field, bumping Scott Ray.
Left Lane: Neal Parker No Time, Now #5
Best prior run: 6.216/227.65, Was #5
Right Lane: Ed Lyons Runs 6.368/213.91, Now #8
Best prior run: 6.479/208.81, Was #8
Lyons stepped way up from his earlier run, but stayed on the bubble. Parker broke on the burnout and was pushed back away from the starting line.
Left Lane: Scott Ray Runs 7.422/119.84, Now #9
Best prior run: 6.594/204.01, Was #9
Right Lane: Randy Fraker No Time, Now #10
Best prior run: 6.667/200.89, Was #10
Just-bumped Ray needed to beat Lyons' 6.368 to get back in, but he sacrificed an engine on the top end and slowed, so the field is set.

Results for Elimination Rnd 1

EPPING, N.H. - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Outlaw at the 5th annual Amalie Oil Northern Nationals:

 W/L Driver RT ET Speed

 (W) Mike Decker (Spitzer-Chevy) 0.423 6.021 221.38
 (L) Neal Parker ('48 Fiat) 0.442 6.148 227.00
12:01 PM It's eliminations time and the endangered species known as Pro Outlaw opens the show. Parker did all he could, but severe tire shake killed his ET and by the time he recovered Decker was long gone, posting a possible World record ET in the process.
 (W) Dave Christensen (Spitzer-Chevy) 0.522 6.308 213.03
 (L) Michael Barclay (Victory-Dodge) 0.479 6.548 216.83
Barclay's was the only altered left after Parker's defeat...and nobody wanted to stage. Christensen finally went in, then Barclay left first - and shook so hard he had to get completely out of the throttle, allowing Christensen to go by for an easy win, the margin of victory = 0.197 seconds (approximately 63 feet).
 (W) Laurie Cannister (Nicorette/Nicoderm Spitzer0.454 6.040 220.91
 (L) Karen Haddock (Dragster-Chevy) 0.472 17.375 41.61
As with the first two pairings, severe tire shake decided the outcome, Haddock's dragster bouncing violently until she lifted. Probably didn't matter, Cannister very much "on her game" here, winning lane choice against Christensen in round two.
 (W) Mick Snyder (Snyder Racing Spitzer-Chevy) 0.495 6.082 219.94
 (L) Ed Lyons (Spitzer-Ford) 0.444 6.498 210.60
Finally a no-shake race, Snyder easily the favorite and the race going according to form. Snyder loses lane choice to Decker, however.

Sunday

 (L) Mike Decker (Spitzer-Chevy) 0.419 (Broke)
1:57 PM Decker shook very hard and gave it up, coasting through so slowly he got no time.
 (W) Laurie Cannister (Nicorette/Nicoderm Spitzer0.468 6.058 220.91
 (L) Dave Christensen (Spitzer-Chevy) 0.481 6.287 201.49
Laurie wins by a margin of victory = 0.242 seconds (approximately 72 feet). but gives up lane choice against Snyder in the final round.

Sunday

Results for Final Round

EPPING, N.H. - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of final, round 3 eliminations in Pro Outlaw at the 5th annual Amalie Oil Northern Nationals:

 W/L Driver RT ET Speed

 (W) Laurie Cannister (Nicorette/Nicoderm Spitzer0.456 6.045 219.26
 (L) Mick Snyder (Snyder Racing Spitzer-Chevy) 0.443 6.158 215.75
5:46 PM #1 and #2 in the points face off here - Cannister will stay #1, all Snyder can hope to do is tighten the interval. Snyder's car spun the tires hard on the launch and that cost him about a tenth of a second - the margin of victory = 0.100 seconds (approximately 32 feet).
