THE MOSER ENGINEERING “AXLE MANIA” PROGRAM

Moser Engineering begins its seventh year with IHRA and the Axle Mania Program. All IHRA sportsman racers that meet the eligibility requirements will have the opportunity to qualify for the $51,000 purse, including the top prize of $22,500. To be eligible, a racer must run a set of Moser axles and have the proper Moser Engineering decals and complete the registration form available at the IHRA Technical Services trailer. The Moser “Axle Mania” decals will be available at each IHRA national and Pro-Am event. The top four eligible racers in each of IHRA’s seven sportsman classes and the “wild card” group will comprise the 32-car field. Points will be accumulated at Pro-Am Races only and in the same manner as IHRA Drag Racing Championship points. The seventh edition of Moser Axle Mania will be run at the Torco Northern Nationals at Knoll Gas Motorsports Park at US 131 in August 2008. Points for the 2008 edition of Moser Axle Mania began accumulating at the start of the 2007 season and concluded with the World Finals in Rockingham. Moser Axle Mania will be run with a full tree on an eighth-mile standard. The third round pairings or winners from each eliminator sub-group will be drawn at random and placed on a sportsman ladder during the off season. The best reaction time will get lane choice for the next round. If a racer changes classes before the 2006 event, he or she may enter the new car in the Moser Axle Mania, as long as it fits in the IHRA sportsman class he or she qualified in. The purse will be as follows: Winner: $22,500; RU: $7,500; Semi: $1,500; Quarters: $1,000; Eighths: $750; Sixteenths: $500
