The International Hot Rod Association is pleased to announce that Perry Harley-Davidson, based in Portage, Michigan, will be the presenting sponsor for the 2013 CarSafe Northern Nitro Jam at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park the weekend of August 9-10.

Founded in 1925 by L.J. Perry, father of present owner Richard Perry, Perry Harley-Davidson is the oldest Harley dealership in Michigan and one of the oldest Harley-Davidson franchised dealerships in the United States in continual operation by the same family. The dealership features a 24,000 sq. ft. facility with many great Harley-Davidson motorcycles and products to choose from and will be a great partner with IHRA’s unique brand of thrilling motorsports entertainment including the stars of Nitro Jam’s Nitro Harley class.

“We are very excited to have Perry Harley-Davidson on board for one of our oldest and most prestigious events,” said Aaron Polburn, President of IHRA Motorsports. “Nitro Jam has such a unique blend of entertainment, value, great racing action and, of course, some of the fastest motorcycles in the world and we think that excitement will carry over to our partnership with Perry Harley-Davidson. For years Harley fans have come out in droves to see Nitro Jam and our exciting Nitro Harley class and we look forward to seeing those fans and welcoming even more through a special discount available only at Perry.”

In advance of the 37th running of the CarSafe Northern Nitro Jam presented by Perry Harley-Davidson, the longest running IHRA national event currently on the schedule, Perry Harley-Davidson will be offering a $5 discount coupon good for Friday’s show and a discounted kid’s ticket good for the entire weekend.

Harley-Davidson fans will be in for a treat as the Northern Nitro Jam will feature among its professional classes some of the fastest motorcycles in the world in the nitro-powered Nitro Harley class. Riding a 2,000 horsepower nitromethane-fueled motorcycle with no safety harnesses, these daredevils regularly exceed speeds in excess of 220 miles per hour and can cover the quarter-mile racing distance in six seconds.

Also in action at the 2013 Northern Nitro Jam will be the 320 mph stars of Top Fuel Dragster, the fan-favorite AMSOIL Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car and Fuel Altered classes and the return of Mountain Motor Pro Stock to IHRA competition. The event will close with the 30,000 horsepower Super Shockwave jet-powered truck, jet dragsters, the Chevy Rebellion wheelstander, fireworks, two full days of sportsman drag racing and much more.
