Holbrook Opens With Impressive Run on New Mustang, Drivers Praise

Dinwiddie,
VA - Chris Holbrook,34, made the first attempt at the Virginia
Motorsports Park racing surface during the CompetitionPlus.com Spring Open
presented by Lizzard Racing Engines. The former IHRA Pro Stock World
Champion made the first full pass of the event when he ran a 6.685/209.76.
The 2001 McAmis built Mustang has only been run one other time, in Texas
January of this year. Earlier this season, the Livernois Motorsports
812-cubic inch Ford Hemi engine ran a 6.61 ET.
On the second pass of the day Holbrook eased out a consistent 6.69/207.15.
In addition, to Holbrook's impressive pass, other drivers have enjoyed
smooth runs down the peak condition Virginia track.
The Fulton Competition powered, Pro Modified, '57 Chevy Bel-Air, driven by
Carl Moyer blasted through the sixty-foot time at 1.006.
Pro Stock driver and professional welder Angelo Alesci pulled out a 6.720
ET on his first pass down Virginia Motorsports Park. On the second pass,
the 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, ran a 6.70/206.
Shannon "Iceman" Jenkins jumped off the line today on his first
pass as if he were a Super Stocker. The newly built McAmis 67' Camaro
bounced the tires after the launch. Jenkins let out of it and coasted to
the end.
