WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Motor Mile Dragway has renewed its commitment to the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) through a multi-year sanctioning agreement.

Located off Interstate 81 in Radford, Va., the 1/8-mile track is being leased by drag racing veteran Doug Foley Jr., whose father Doug has a rich history within the IHRA as a Top Fuel dragster driver.

The facility also features a driver development drag racing school run by Foley Jr. allowing drivers to learn what it takes to become a winning drag racer. Under Foley’s guidance, Motor Mile Dragway also features a Pure Speed experience. This allows people to either ride along in or drive a dragster. Motor Mile also features the Rusty Wallace karting center for those who prefer their speed in more than a straight line.

“Motor Mile has a long history with IHRA and we were very concerned when the track did not open last season,” said IHRA Division 2 & 9 Director Josh Peake. “We are very excited to have Doug take over the operation of the facility. He is a good bracket racer in his own right and will bring a unique perspective to the track operation. A lot of the attributes and work habits that it takes to be a high-level bracket racer will certainly apply to making the operation successful.

Motor Mile Dragway has a very aggressive IHRA Summit SuperSeries bracket schedule on tap for 2021, along with a blend of special events for both racers and spectators. For more about Motor Mile Dragway click here.
