Alamo City Motorplex, IHRA Reach Multi-Year Sanction Agreement

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Alamo City Motorplex and the International Hot Rod Association have reunited with a multi-year sanctioning agreement. 

The facility switches back to IHRA sanction for the 2021 season after two seasons running under NHRA sanction. It gives racers at Alamo City, known as the premier drag strip in South Texas, the opportunity to participate in the IHRA Summit SuperSeries, the premier program for grassroots racers in North America.

“We are honored that the facility has put its trust in IHRA and are giving their racers a chance to participate in the IHRA sportsman-focused programs,” said Division 4, 6 & 7 Director Frank Kohutek.  “IHRA has a long history with this facility and I’m excited that they will be rejoining IHRA Division 4 and sending racers to the Summit Team Finals and Summit SuperSeries World Finals once again.”

Amenities for racers and fans include RV Parking, fuel station, kids play park, road course, off-road course and camping.  The track also won the IHRA Division 4 Summit Team Finals track championship in 2014.
