DRM Issue 1 - The Future Of Sportsman Racing Begins Now
| POSTED: 2010-01-22 08:03:00 |

With the simple flip of a calendar page, another decade in the saga of the International Hot Rod Association is about to begin.
The 39th season of top-flight competition promises to be unlike any in the prestigious organization’s history. A completely restructured format will greet racers and fans as they roll into the world-class environs of Florida’s Palm Beach International Raceway for the inaugural Nitro Jam event at the end of January.
While there will be significant changes on the professional side of the coin, the well-established and highly respected IHRA sportsman programs will continue to build on the solid foundation established years ago for and by the best grassroots racers in the sport.
In recognition of the contribution made by these dedicated racers the staff of DRM is proud to introduce “The Voice of Sportsman Racing,” the restructured and re-focused official magazine of the IHRA. From its new logo to the unique and insightful content specifically presented with sportsman racers in mind, DRM will truly be for and about the weekend warriors who are the lifeblood of modern drag racing.
From battles waged on the national scene to hard-fought competition at local tracks, action from the Summit Pro-Am Tour, Summit SuperSeries, Summit Team Finals, and Jr. Dragster Team Finals, as well as from special programs such as the Summit Allstars and Moser Axle Mania Sportsman Showdown will provide DRM readers with comprehensive race coverage, outstanding photography, interviews, features, and tech articles, all geared towards IHRA’s outstanding sportsman and bracket programs.
In addition, there will be coverage of the innovative Tournament of Champions as well as the new Harland Sharp Elite 8 program for Top Dragster and Top Sportsman competitors which promises to elevate these classes to new heights of popularity.
So sit back and enjoy the new-look DRM, and please feel free to let us know what you think. If there are things you like, don’t like, or would like to see in DRM, we’d like to know about it. Send a note to me at bwood@feldinc.com and give me your input!
