The International Hot Rod Association is pleased to announce the signing of Curacao International Raceway to its family of member tracks.

While the popularity of the International Hot Rod Association continues to remain steady in the United States its international recognition continues to grow at a blistering pace as CIR becomes the sixth track outside the U.S. to join the IHRA.

“We are very excited to have Curacao International Raceway join the IHRA as our track list continues to grow at a record pace,” said Phil Gingerich, Director of Track Development. “Over the past six months we have added nearly a dozen new tracks and we have several more interested in joining. Right now is an exciting time to be a part of the IHRA.”

Curacao International Raceway becomes the latest track to fly the IHRA colors when it signed with the sanctioning body in late December. Located on the beautiful island of Curacao in the Caribbean, Curacao International Raceway joins Aruba International Raceway as the second track just off the coast of Venezuela to join the IHRA.

“It is a beautiful facility on a beautiful island and the local drivers are anxious to begin racing with the IHRA,” Gingerich added. “As our international presence continues to grow we look forward to adding even more tracks outside of the United States to our family.”

The island of Curacao is approximately 171 square miles with a population of roughly 150,000 people. The raceway sits on 240 acres with a three story modern tower and seating for 5,000 spectators.

Curacao International Raceway races several classes including Box, No Box, Street and Motorcycles. The track also holds a number of special races throughout the year featuring Pro Modifieds and Quick 8 cars from Aruba and neighboring islands.

With the signing of Curacao International Raceway the list of IHRA tracks is steadily approaching 100 strong with tracks now in 30 states and four countries.
