| POSTED: 2009-12-01 14:45:35 |

Undoubtedly the most significant championships that any sportsman racer can run for are the Summit SuperSeries Box and No Box titles. All season long bracket racers work their way up through layers of competition to get a chance to run for all the marbles at the season-ending World Finals.
At Rockingham Dragway in October the two left standing after a long weekend were Davey Boyd, who races out of Middle Tennessee Dragway, and Scotty Phillips, a Dragway 42 regular. Read about their triumphant trip to North Carolina in Issue 22 of DRM.
Also in this issue is coverage of the pro competition at Rockingham as well as profiles of pro champions Del Cox Jr., Kenny Lang, and John Montecalvo.
We recognize all divisional title winners and runners-up, recap the World Finals and wrap-up the Sportsman Nationals event. Also included is an in-depth preview of all sportsman programs for 2010.
Don’t miss the opportunity to get off track with Randy Cunningham as he interviews one of the IHRA’s most off-the-wall characters, Top Sportsman competitor “Motor City Mike” Sowards.
There’s also another of Susan Wade’s features on IHRA members tracks. This time around she gives us a look at the people behind North Carolina’s Farmington Dragway.
And of course IHRA President Aaron Polburn offers his unique take on the state-of-the-sport and the world in general in his “The Last Word” column.
