Top ET Ironman winner Tracy Taylor

Since the inception of the IHRA’s very popular Ironman Classic presented by DRM, Ronnie Jeter has all but dominated the Ironman scene in Modified ET.  On Saturday, August 1st, Jeter was at it again taking a great Modified ET Victory in route to making room on his mantle for his 3rd Ironman Trophy.  Jeter said, “collecting these trophies never gets old – even better, this is my first since IHRA redesigned the trophy an he’ll certainly take center stage!”  In the finals, Jeter ousted Chris Barrow in an all-9-second Modified ET run.

Tracy Taylor had a great day as she earned a hard fought victory in Top ET.  Taylor commented, “every round, I asked my mom to keep me in the fight and despite having some slow reaction times and a couple of hiccups, I ended up with the prize!”  Taylor lost her mother over a year ago and dedicated the Iron Man Trophy to her memory.  Making her trip to Victory lane even more special was that fellow Top ET Competitor Mike Alexander Sr. customized the Iron Man with a few of his blond locks to make it a little more lady like. Mike said, “I wanted Tracy to have an Ironlady”

Rounding out Saturday’s winners were Mike Butler in Street & Strip and Lauren Sparkman in the Susan McLauchlan Jewelers Ladies Challenge Series.  Track operator Johnny Davis commented, “the IHRA Iron Man Challenge presented by DRM Magazine has been a great addition to our schedule every year.  Our racers mark their calendars for this event and give it their all to try and take home the awesome IHRA Iron Man Trophy!”
