Thunderstorms and rain on Friday night couldn’t dampen the spirits or the racing activity at the All Junior Dragster Team Finals at Pittsburgh Raceway Park on Saturday. Teams from tracks in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan and New Jersey convened for the second annual all Junior Dragster Team Finals. Four Index classes, an all run bracket race and gamblers race kept the activity and fun level at an all time high. 

Beaver Springs Dragway with a team of eight racers took on other tracks teams of ten to take home the Team Championship Ironman for track owner, Beaver Bob McCardle. It was a hard fought battle with two other teams in contention for the championship. Finals in the 8-9 year old class saw David Howard bring home an Ironman and a point for Pittsburgh Team #3 winning over Ryan Gwinner of Marion County. In the 10-11 year olds Emma Deuschle of Marion County beat Mark Miller of Quaker City giving MC the lead in the over all points chase, with Beaver Springs and Pittsburgh team #1 tied for second place. That lead however was soon lost when Kyle Kohr of Beaver Springs beat Adam Duche of Pittsburgh in the finals of the 12-14 year olds. With a win to seal the championship resting on Beaver Spring’s Cody Gibson, he won on a hole shot against Jacob Benish of Pittsburgh’s team #1.
