Pine Valley preps for first Div 4 Sportsman Nationals

2008 Event Winners: Top Sportsman- Scooter Hampton (Day 1) and Rip Dennis (Day 2), Top Dragster- Curt Harvey II (Day 1) and Brad Taylor (Day 2), Super Stock- Hagen Gary (Day 1) and James Paul (Day 2), Stock- Jody Simoneaux (Day 1) and Jerry Emmons(Day 2), Quick Rod- Britt Cummings (Both Days), Super Rod- Roger Warren (Day 1) and Scooter Choate (Day 2), Hot Rod- Matt Crisp (Day 1) and Rick Prudhomme (Day 2) Junior Beginner- Rocky McLain (Both Days), Junior Advance - Candibeth Glasco (Both Days), Junior Master -Crystal Peterson (Day 1) and Dale Scates (Day 2).
Defending Division Champions: Top Sportsman- Chris Gulitti (Spring, TX), Top Dragster- Jason Dennis (Lubbock, TX), Super Stock- James Paul (Fort Worth, TX), Stock- Slate Cummings (Hammond, LA), Quick Rod- Britt Cummings (Hammond, LA), Super Rod- Jimmy Lewis (Forney, TX), Hot Rod- Matt Crisp (Castroville, TX).
What to expect: The third stop of the Division 4 Renegades Summit Pro Am Tour presented by Mr. Gasket will be at Pine Valley Raceway. The gates will open up at 9 am on Thursday with a test n tune scheduled for Pro Am racers only beginning at 2 pm until 8 pm. IHRA tech will open at 12 noon and close at 8 pm for early arriving participates. Thursday evening about 6pm we will finish the rained out portion of the State Capitol Pro Am event for those 31 participates who were still in when Mother Nature called an end to the racing. Friday the gates will open at 8 am with 2 time trial/ qualifying sessions beginning at 9 am with eliminations immediately following 2nd session. Saturday the gates will open at 8 am and tech at 9 am. Racers will be given 1 time trial at 10 am and go directly into eliminations. Sunday gates open at 8 am with 1 time trial/qualifying session at 9 am and go immediately into eliminations. Run Order for Friday and Saturday will be Hot Rod, Stock, Quick Rod, Super Stock, Super Rod, Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Junior Beginner, Junior Advanced and Junior Master. Run order for Sunday’s event will be the same with the exception that juniors will not be running on Sunday.
Special Programs: Summit All-Star Program—Season ending event where the division champions and defending All Star champion in their respective class will compete against each other for the title at the World Finals at Rockingham.
Moser Engineering Axle Mania—To be eligible a racer must run a set of Moser axles and have the proper Moser Engineering decals and complete the registration form. All IHRA sportsman racers who meet the eligibility requirements will have the opportunity to qualify for a $51,000 purse, including a top prize of $22,500. The seventh edition of Moser Axle Mania will be run at the Northern Nationals at US 131 Motorsports Park in August of 2009.
