Dallas Raceway presents nitro warm-up this weekend
| POSTED: 2009-05-19 10:00:00 |

Setting the stage for the upcoming Amalie Oil Texas Nationals, the Outlaw Fuel Altered Association will treat Dallas Raceway fans to a true sensory assault this weekend – the sight, sound, and smell that only nitromethane-burning cars can provide. These cars and their drivers are planning to give everyone at Crandall a good stiff pre-Texas Nationals nitro tease as they roll into their second event of the season Saturday, May 23rd.

OFAA officials expect a large turnout of wild, flame-throwing, three-second altereds for this event. Four-time series champion Bobby Marriott, the latest event winner, Donnie Massey, rookie female driver Mary Reep, and many more drivers will be in attendance, ready to lay the smack down on the awesome, all-concrete Dallas Raceway surface in a fashion only fuel altereds can provide - unpredictable and on the edge of control!

Following last weekend’s highly successful track-opening Outlaw Pro Mod event, which produced numerous three-second, eighth-mile passes as well as a blast of 200.80 mph by Gaylen Smith, racers now know that the Dallas Raceway surface can handle all the power they can throw at it.

OFAA competitors hope to grab the Dallas Raceway track record of 3.85 set by Ken Thomas last weekend. Even if the record is broken, it likely won’t last long as the best Top Fuel, Pro Modified, and Pro Stock drivers in the IHRA Nitro Jam series are scheduled to roll into town for the Amalie Oil Texas Nationals the weekend of May 29-31st. This will be true quarter-mile racing at its best.

Dallas Raceway is a dream come true for racers and fans from all over the country. It has been done right, and it’s more than ready. Bring on the IHRA!
